Country music has lost another legend with Sunday night’s death of Jimmy Dean. His 1961 smash “Big Bad John” put him on the map nationally, a fame enhanced by numerous TV appearances and the sausage company he founded eight years later that bears his name. He was selected for the 2010 class of the Country Music Hall of Fame, with his official induction scheduled for October’s Medallion Ceremony.

Look for a selection from the Jimmy Dean catalog in Tuesday’s 3 Chords a Day.
